What better way to celebrate with a bride to be than a bridal shower! Possibly the most important detail for the shower is the bridal shower food. Getting creative with bridal shower food can be an exciting way to add to the party. Finger foods are a must have at any shower, if you are undecided as to have a full blown meal or a variety of appetizers you need to incorporate finger foods regardless. The biggest hit at bridal showers are Fiesta Roll-Up’s. Here’s what you will need: 4 flour tortilla shells, one 8oz package of cream cheese, one packet of taco seasoning, sliced olives, diced green chilies, diced tomato (canned is fine) and 1/2 Cup of shredded cheddar cheese. First mix the taco seasoning with the cream cheese. You may want to use a hand mixer since cream cheese can be difficult to stir if it is still chilled. Next mix in the olives, chilies, tomato and cheddar cheese. Spread this mixture evenly across the tortilla shells leaving half an inch around the edges bare. Roll up the tortillas and chill for at least two hours. After the tortillas are chilled they will be easier to cut. Slice the rolled up tortillas into one-inch pieces and serve.
Another excellent appetizer for a bridal shower is Saucy Meatballs. This is one of the easiest bridal shower recopies there is. Take some frozen meatballs (unless you are feeling ambitious and would like to form your own) and put them into a slow cooker. Next take equal portions of ketchup and grape jelly and pour them over the meatballs. For one package of frozen meatballs one cup of ketchup and one cup of grape jelly usually works well. Set the slow cooker to low until the meatballs are heated through. Make sure to stir them regularly so the jelly and ketchup mix well. The salt from the ketchup and the sugar from the jelly make a great sauce that will be a favorite bridal shower recipe for everyone to enjoy!
If you are looking for bridal shower food with a little more substance try making Calico Beans. These beans have been a hit at every party I’ve seen them at. What you will need: 1 pound ground beef, 3-4 slices of bacon, 1 large onion, 2-3 stalks of celery, ½ Cup Ketchup, 1Tbs prepared mustard, 1 Cup brown sugar, 2 Tbs vinegar, 1 can of Butter Beans, Kidney Beans, 1 can Lima or Navy Beans and 1 large can of Baked Beans. First brown and drain the ground beef, onion and celery. In a separate pan brown the bacon and crumble when cooked. Combine all of the ingredients into a slow cooker on low for 3-6 hours before serving or bake in a conventional oven at 350 degrees for 1 ½ hours.
These bridal shower recipes will be a great addition to your party. They have been a hit for years and have become a staple dish to pass at our family bridal showers. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
